Your
Dog Health Care Information Site
Dog care and dog health is a matter
of concern to many dog owners. Dog wellness and dog health depends
on a number of things - your dog's diet, your dog's exercise regime, the
manner in which you train your dog, your dog's grooming. But no matter
what aspects there are to dog health, your dog's holistic health, dog wellness
and of course dog care is dependant upon YOU!
Natural health for dogs is gaining
popularity, and rightly so.
For many, many years, the commercial
dog food manufacturers have been getting away with far too much.
And they're not the only culprits that are contributing to the decline
in dog health overall - over vaccination of pets is also contributing to
a degree that may surprise you.
Let me ask you something - do you
feed your dog commercial dogfood of any type? Canned dog food or
dry dog food, processed dog rolls, and so on. Perhaps you have taken
steps to feed what you believe is premium dog food - perhaps a brand of
dogfood recommended by your pet shop, or even your vet? A so-called
premium dog food that probably costs a lot more than the dogfood on sale
in your local supermarket? Would it surprise you to learn that the
premium dog food that your pet store or vet recommends is almost as bad,
if not as bad, as the supermarket dog food brands?
The ideal diet for your dog is raw
food. Yes, raw meat as the main offering, as well as some raw vegetables
and the odd serving of fruit, and perhaps a little boiled rice and some
egg occasionally for good measure. Do you know how much fresh, edible
meat goes into those commercial dog foods (including the vast majority
of the premium ones)? Almost none.
That's right. Most of what's
in dog food is highly processed garbage cooked at high heat, and smothered
with preservatives. Is it any wonder that dogs are living shorter
lives, and suffering from degenerative diseases - heart disease, cancer,
liver disease and more. Healthy dogs and commercial dog foods do
NOT go together. If dog health is your concern (as it should be),
you should stop all commercial dog foods.
Back to your vet for a minute
- do you obediently take your dog in every year for your dog's vaccinations?
Big mistake. Over-vaccinating is killing our dogs. Vaccinations
cause all sorts of insidious problems with our dogs' health - including
immune system breakdown, Lyme's disease, allergies, Diabetes, cancer, and
the list goes on.
There is absolutely no evidence
that animals require annual vaccination booster shots at all. There
is no evidence that any good is achieved by this practise. But there
is mounting evidence that pet vaccinations build up in our dogs' systems
and cause illness, disease, and even death. And what's even more
alarming, is that unless your vet is many years out of date with the medical
research, your vet KNOWS that dog vaccinations are unnecessary after 1
year of age. Yes, your vet knows it, but keeps on sending out annual
reminders to all their pet owners to bring their pets in for annual shots.
Why? Ask you vet. You
might find (as I did) that your vet preys on your desire to do the best
for your dog's health, and doesn't trust you to bring your dog in for an
annual general checkup (which IS very important), so thinks that the spectre
of a so-called "required" pet vaccination will get you running down to
your vet's surgery.
So if you want to improve your dog's
health and wellness - stop getting your adult dog vaccinated. (N.B.
Please do NOT do this without discussing your decision first with your
vet - puppies DO need to be vaccinated, and in some areas it is illegal
not to vaccinate your dog).
